HELM Training Programme 2012
HELM Training courses are free of charge (unless stated) and funded through the HELM training programme. Please read the section in the promotional leaflet detailing 'who should attend?' to see whether a course is appropriate for you.
If your job role is not in the target audience for the course you can still add your name to the waiting list, as last minute places may become available.
To book your place
For courses in March 2012, places can be reserved by telephoning the Training Delivery Officer on 01793 44 5029 or by emailing HELMbookings@english-heritage.org.uk. A booking form will be forwarded to you if places are still available. Please complete and return this form to confirm your booking.
For courses from April 2012 onwards, the dates are for reference only.
Bookings are not available yet as all dates, topics and locations are tentative and may be subject to change.

March 2012
7 March. Enforcement and Conservation. Newark. This event will give you the tools you need to undertake enforcement action in historic places. It is designed for local authority enforcement officers, planners who take enforcement action and those who work with them in a historic context.
8 March. Developing a Local List for Local Authorities. Birmingham. This event introduces the EH guidance on developing a local list, providing practical support and examples of good practice for any local authorities seeking to implement or improve a local list. The course is aimed at Conservation and HER officers who compile local lists and planning officers and elected members who will use evidence from local lists in decision making.

We invite people to come along to the course with an historic asset in mind for a HPA and to bring the partners they will be working with. This allows delegates to focus specifically on the challenges they face and receive support from those who have experienced developing HPAs.
15 November. Developing and Managing your Heritage Partnership Agreement. London. This course aims to bring together Local Authorities, owners and stakeholders.
