New Guidance for Listed Building and Planning Consent
A Charter for English Heritage Planning and Development Advisory Services
English Heritage has published an online guide for conservation, planning and development professionals, and all those applying for consents, to help make life easier for everyone working with the historic environment. The fully updated Charter for English Heritage Planning and Development Advisory Services, available from http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/your-property/planning-advice/, clearly provides information such as when to consult English Heritage; what you can expect from its advisory service; how you can make better applications; and the range of information that may be required for applicants.
The new edition of the Charter has been updated in line with all the latest planning policy, has a stronger emphasis on pre-application advice and new sections on e-planning and design and access statements. It is the first time that such guidance has been offered in an accessible online form, along with other useful links and guidance. English Heritage is also offering a hard-copy version, available from English Heritage Customer Services on 0870 3331181 or a PDF version.
