Becoming a Heritage Champion

If you are interested in becoming a Heritage Champions, you may wish to discuss the matter with the Leader of your authority and your fellow councillors. Many authorities have asked Cabinet Members with a related portfolio (such as Environment, Design, Regeneration or Community Development) to take on the role, while others have appointed a non-executive Member through the Committee system.

Historic Environment Traineeship (HET) Scheme

English Heritage will be launching a Historic Enivironment Traineeship (HET) Scheme in October 2008. Trainees will be placed within our regional teams across the country and will gain experience in the application of professional conservation management skills in a planning and development context.
